Hello Everyone,

Here is what we covered today:


Class Period 3:

1) Filled out communication books.

2) I reviewed all the vocabulary with the students. Again, the vocabulary can be found here:

3) Oxford Phonics World 4, pages 16-17: We learned about dr- and tr- word beginning consonant blends. I then said some words with the sounds and the students circled the pictures. We also did fill in the blank.

Class Period 4:

1) Oxford Phonics World 4, pages 18-19: I said fr, gr, dr, tr, pl, and sl consonant blend words. The students put the words under the correct category.

2) Unit 2 Test Review Worksheet. This worksheet has a similar format to what the students will see on Friday. For Part A, I read the words and the students wrote them down. Anything the students did not finish in class is homework.

Homework: 

1) Complete the Unit 2 Vocabulary Quiz Review Worksheet.

2) Study for the unit test tomorrow. The vocabulary is below. The ones with check marks will be used for spelling. If there is no check mark or "-" next to the word, students will not be tested on it.

Friday, October 18 Classes

We learned about words that had the same diphthongs and circled them after viewing the matching image.
