Monday, October 14 Classes

Hello Everyone,

Here is what we covered today:

Period 5: I went over the new vocabulary for the new story "The Stormi Giovanni Club".

Period 6:

1) We finished the vocabulary PPT.

2) I handed back the "Personal Narrative" writing assignment and I gave students a thick piece of cardboard paper to write their second draft on. They worked on this throughout the period.

Period 7:

1) Students continued to write their second draft, including providing a title and picture for their Personal Narrative. Some students did not finish their drafts and I may give students another period to complete them.

2) I pasted the exam scope for the midterm into the students' communication books:

Homework: 

1) Vocabulary #1-8 x4, definition x1

Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Periods 3: My View 1.2, Pages 99-102 Page 99: Segmented and blended the sounds of the words brick, plant, and snow. Also, discussed the prefixes re- (again) and un- (opposite of) and went over some examples. Page 100: Fill-in-the-blank with some words and wrote two sentences for the two words we did not use in the blanks. Page 101: Went over examples of words with re- and un- prefixes and wrote the correct prefix to complete a word after reading the description. Page 102: Fill in the blanks with the correct un- or re- prefix and write two sentences using words that contain these prefixes. Class Period 4: My View 1.2, Pages 103-105: Read the decodable "Best Time of the Year" about children named Drew, Sue, and Newt. We learned about their favorite seasons and why the like them. Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Period 3: 1) I collected MyView 1.2 Workbooks from the students. 2) Students took the Week 14 Unit Test. I will hand these back on Monday.
