Friday, November 22 Classes
Hello Everyone,
Here's what we covered in class today:
Class Period 3:
1) Handed back the marked Week 12 Practice Worksheet. I let the students look at them before they began their Week 13 Test.

2) We had the Week 13 Vocabulary Exam. I will hand these back on Monday, as usual.
Class Period 4:
I introduced a writing activity, called "How to ______." I told the students that they need to choose an activity and tell me how to do it in 6 steps. I told them their tittle needs to be "How to (Their Chosen Activity)" and that each step needs to start with a verb. I completed 2 examples (the first is silly and fictional and the second is more serious) with them in class and underlined the verbs. These examples went something like this:
(Example #1)
How to Ride a Dinosaur:
1. Search for a dinosaur in the forest.
2. Find a dinosaur that looks friendly.
3. Say "hello" to the dinosaur.
4. Ask the dinosaur if you can ride it.
5. Jump on the dinosaur's back.
6. Have fun riding the dinosaur.
(Example #2)
How to Make a Friend:
1. Think about the kind of person you want as a friend.
2. Find a person who is interesting.
3. Say "hello" to the person.
4. Ask the person how she is doing.
5. Chat with her for a long time.
6. Ask him if he could be your friend.
I also explained that students can write how to do anything, like making a specific food or playing a specific sport. I gave the students half an A4 sheet of paper. They had 30 minutes in class to complete the writing assignment rough draft.
Some students kept tell me "I don't know" without even trying, but I helped as much students as I could that were willing to try during class time and some other students during lunchtime.
About half of the class didn't finish or even try, so I am including it as homework in addition to the 5 sentences. For students who wrote nothing or very little, who didn't turn in their rough drafts, or who were absent, please do the writing for homework.
