Class Period 6
Oxford Phonics World 4, Pages 48-51
Page 48: learned about words with the "ck" and "qu" word blends and their pronunciations.
Page 49: The class listened to the numbers I assigned to each word and wrote the number next to the word and drew a line to match it to the correct picture. We also found and wrote the words with "ck" or "qu" word blends within a larger list of letters.
Page 50: Pronounced several words and grouped them into their correct category: voiced "th", unvoiced "th", "ck", or "qu". We also unscrambled letters to form words with these word blends.
Page 51: Read a story about ducks that was broken into four separate pictures and picture descriptions. Students circled the areas of the pictures that pertained to specific parts of the text.
Class Period 7
Skill Sharpeners Math Level 2, 38-40:
Page 38: Found the solution to subtraction problems and added the solutions to another number to get another solution.
Page 39: Learned about half, one third, and one fourth of something, specifically pizza. We used these math segments to write how much pizza was eaten and to draw how much pizza was available.
Page 40: Observed a table of favorite foods of different members of a family. We drew a chart and answered questions with this information.
Homework:
1) Write Week 13 vocabulary words #1-8 x 4
2) Sensay Week 13 Read Aloud Questions.
