Class Period 3:

1) Reviewed Week 11 Vocabulary. Here is the focused vocabulary list for the vocabulary test tomorrow:

Crossed out words will not be tested and only those with check marks will be tested for spelling.

Class Period 4:

1) Continued working on the Week 11 Vocabulary Quiz Practice worksheet.

2) MyView 1.5 (New Book), pages 11-15.

Pages 11: Talked about the meaning of the vocabulary words and read the sentences containing them.

Pages 12-13: We learned the affects of the four seasons on apple trees and did some matching of the seasons with the affects.

Page 14: Learned that the long o sound can be spelled in three different ways (oa, ow, oe) and can be included in the middle or end of words. We learned some of those words.

Page 15: We learned more words with the long o sound and circled the names of words that were represented by pictures.


Homework:

1) Week 11 Vocabulary Quiz Practice Worksheet

2) Sensay Week 11 Read Aloud Assignment.

Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Periods 3: My View 1.2, Pages 99-102 Page 99: Segmented and blended the sounds of the words brick, plant, and snow. Also, discussed the prefixes re- (again) and un- (opposite of) and went over some examples. Page 100: Fill-in-the-blank with some words and wrote two sentences for the two words we did not use in the blanks. Page 101: Went over examples of words with re- and un- prefixes and wrote the correct prefix to complete a word after reading the description. Page 102: Fill in the blanks with the correct un- or re- prefix and write two sentences using words that contain these prefixes. Class Period 4: My View 1.2, Pages 103-105: Read the decodable "Best Time of the Year" about children named Drew, Sue, and Newt. We learned about their favorite seasons and why the like them. Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Period 3: 1) I collected MyView 1.2 Workbooks from the students. 2) Students took the Week 14 Unit Test. I will hand these back on Monday.
