Class Period 6:

1)

Oxford Phonics World 4, Pages 12-15:

Pages 12-13: learned about "fr-" and "gr-" word beginnings and sounds and did some circling and matching (word --> picture -- > word shape) exercises.

Pages 14-15: learned about "pl-" and "sl-" word beginnings and sounds and did some matching (beginning of word --> end of word -- > picture) and word unscrambling exercises.

2) The class has a writing assignment. Students need to write a one-page "Personal Narrative". Personal narrative stories are stories about an event that is special to someone's life.

I will choose a class period (or periods) to write the first draft this week, then I will give the corrections to the students and they will make a corrected copy next week in class. I will correct this second copy, and the students will type the final draft on a computer for homework. The final draft will be submitted on week seven.


Class Period 7:

We worked on Skill Sharpeners Math 2 pages 15-17.

Page 15: Write the hours or half hours indicated on the clock and draw the clock hands.

Page 16: Answer the questions about four races using words such as "most", "many more", "many", and "together"

Page 17: Adding and subtracting, drawing clock hands, and filling in the sequential numbers.


Homework: 

1) Write vocabulary words #1-8 x4.

2) Parents, please sign the student's test after the student makes corrections (except for the blank answers in the listening and writing section). Please also make sure they correct their homework worksheet from last Thursday and return it tomorrow.

3) Students need to work on their Sensay assignments every week, starting from last week.
