 Hello Everyone,

Here is what we covered today:


Class Period 3:

I reviewed the vocabulary list, minus the words that will now not be tested. I then played an online vocabulary game where we matched the words with pictures.

Class Period 4:

1) Went over MyView pages 121 and 122.

Page 121: We finished reading the story “Cars by Bob” and highlighted the comparative words. I also reviewed the whole story and asked the students questions.

2) I gave the class a quiz review worksheet. The practice worksheet includes some new exercises like unscrambling words, finding words from a paragraph that end in -dge, and selecting the correct -er or -est endings for comparative words.

3) I collected the students’ phonics books to check their work and I will give back to them tomorrow.

Homework: 

1) Write vocabulary words #17-24, 4x

2) Complete the quiz review worksheet. Answers (including the separate homework exercises) can be found here:

3) Study for the week 4 vocabulary test. Please remember that some words will not be tested and some will not be used for spelling.

Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Periods 3: My View 1.2, Pages 99-102 Page 99: Segmented and blended the sounds of the words brick, plant, and snow. Also, discussed the prefixes re- (again) and un- (opposite of) and went over some examples. Page 100: Fill-in-the-blank with some words and wrote two sentences for the two words we did not use in the blanks. Page 101: Went over examples of words with re- and un- prefixes and wrote the correct prefix to complete a word after reading the description. Page 102: Fill in the blanks with the correct un- or re- prefix and write two sentences using words that contain these prefixes. Class Period 4: My View 1.2, Pages 103-105: Read the decodable "Best Time of the Year" about children named Drew, Sue, and Newt. We learned about their favorite seasons and why the like them. Friday, November 29 Classes

Hello Everyone, Here's what we covered in class today: Class Period 3: 1) I collected MyView 1.2 Workbooks from the students. 2) Students took the Week 14 Unit Test. I will hand these back on Monday.
