Here is what we covered today:

Period 5:

We went over the new vocab words for Week 7. Here is the new list, where checks show the words that can be used for spelling and "-" show the words that can be used for other parts of the test:

Period 6:
MyView 1.4, pages 155-161
Page 155-157: The decodable story "Raise the Flag" discusses the tradition of raising the flag and saying the pledge of allegiance in American classrooms. We found the words with the long a sounds and the words that have similar vowel sounds to the word cow. 
Page 158-159- Explanation and visual depiction of what Informational Text is.
Pages 160-161- New vocabulary and the story cover page.

Period 7:
Skill Sharpeners Math: Pages 21-23
Pages 21: We found out how to find the total of U.S. dollar notes and coins.
Page 22: We learned about grouping items into doubles and pairs in order to make them easier to add and we performed exercises around this. We also learned what odd and even are and how to determine whether a number of items was odd or even.

Homework: 

1) Write Vocabulary #1-12 x4, definitions x1

We learned about words that had the same diphthongs and circled them after viewing the matching image.
