We learned about words that had the same diphthongs and circled them after viewing the matching image. Page 113: We chose the correct vocabulary word for fill-in-the-blank. Page 114: We chose the correct comparative vocabulary word for fill-in-the-blank and we found the words that have the -dge ending. 2) I talked more about the Personal Narrative and it's structure and contents. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) Filled out communication books. 2) I reviewed all the vocabulary with the students. Again, the vocabulary can be found here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14gvxDN4gu9NSiPMsrhzCBgzqRjWYd8za?rtpof=true&usp=drive_fs 3) Oxford Phonics World 4, pages 16-17: We learned about dr- and tr- word beginning consonant blends. I then said some words with the sounds and the students circled the pictures. We also did fill in the blank. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: MyView, Pages 132-135 Pages 132-133: We finished the story "Where the Railroad Came" and we underlined how the railroad changed Samuel's life. Page 134: We went over some vocabulary words and use them for fill-in-the-blank questions. Page 135: We answered reading comprehension questions by thinking about what we read in the story. Tuesday, September 24 Classes

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) I handed back the MyView 1.2 workbooks. Students should make corrections before I collect them again in one or two weeks. 1) MyView 1.4, pages 125-131: We started reading the story "Before the Railroad Came". We underlined details that would help us find the topic and also underlined where the book explained how the railroad changed the way people in the story lived. Class Period 4: 1. MyView 1.2 Workbook, pages 110-112. Page 110: We learned what the future tense looks like and how to change the tense from past to future tense. To do this, you just need the word "will" plus the base form of the verb (ex: I worked very hard => I will work very hard). Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) The class took the Week 4 exam. 2) MyView 1.2 Workbook #104: We used the -er and -est comparative endings of adjectives to complete the words in the separate columns, -er for column 1 and -est for column 2). Class Period 4: 2) MyView 1.2 Workbook #105-106, 109 Page 105: We circled the -dge words and wrote three sentences as a class using -dge words. Page 106: I taught about opposites and we used our vocabulary to find write the opposite word for the word given. Page 109. We put comparative vocabulary words into their -er or -est ending group category or in the adjective category. 3) Collected the MyView 1.2 workbooks. I will return them on Tuesday in class.  Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: I reviewed the vocabulary list, minus the words that will now not be tested. I then played an online vocabulary game where we matched the words with pictures. Online Vocabulary Matching Game: https://wordwall.net/play/78248/396/234 Class Period 4: 1) Went over MyView pages 121 and 122. Page 121: We finished reading the story “Cars by Bob” and highlighted the comparative words. I also reviewed the whole story and asked the students questions. 2) I gave the class a quiz review worksheet. The practice worksheet includes some new exercises like unscrambling words, finding words from a paragraph that end in -dge, and selecting the correct -er or -est endings for comparative words. 3) I collected the students’ phonics books to check their work and I will give back to them tomorrow. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: 1) MyView Pages 117-120 Pages 117 & 118: Said aloud and wrote words that end in -dge, then wrote two sentences using words we just learned. Pages 119-120: Read a story called "Cars by Bob". The story used the -est and -er comparative word endings and -dge ending words. I asked the class various questions about these two pages of the story. We also found and highlighted the comparative words and the words ending in -dge.
