We learned about words that had these blends and we did some matching, writing, listening and numbering, and word unscrambling exercises. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 1: Phonics World 4, pages 28-31 Pages 28-29: Learned about the st sound in the beginning and ending of words: st word beginning examples: stop, stamp, stay, stand st word ending examples: test, fast, chest, west We did some listening, circling, and identifying correct sentences. Pages 30: Put the words into the correct sm, sn, st, sp, sw sound categories. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Period 5:   1) I collected the Oral Review Worksheets 2) I collected the final drafts of the students who did not submit them on Friday. 3) We completed the communication books. 4) I played a movie 5) I conducted the Oral Test with students, one by one. Period 6: 1) Continued the Oral Testing 2) Continued the Movie Period 7: 1) Continued the Oral Testing 2) Started a new movie Homework:  1) Study for the Listening Test the Wednesday, October 23. We will do an in-class review for this tomorrow. 2) I posted a new OKSensay Reading Comprehension assignment this week. 3) Log onto Savvas and complete the reading assignments. I assigned the three readings (Through Georgia's Eyes, Before the Railroad Came, What is the Story of our Flag?) that the class already completed in class. This is for review, but also needs to be complete by the students.

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) Skill Sharpeners Math 2: We worked on and completed pages 24-26. Page 24: We wrote and circled odd and even numbers. This is something we learned before. Page 25: We learned how to count items by 10's and add the extra items to get the total. Page 26: We used word problems to make and solve addition and subtraction math equations. Class Period 4: 1) Phonics pages. 20-23. We worked on these pages as review of what we learned over the first part of the semester.  Page 20: We sang a song and then identified the things from the song in the picture. Page 21: We did a crossword puzzle using pictures of phonics words that we went over so far. Page 22: I said the words of the pictures on the page and we identified the beginning letters of the words. We also identified some pictures by writing their words next to them and we used these words to correctly match two parts of the word together to form the full word. Page 23: We ...

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) I collected the signed tests. 2) MyView 1.4, pages 182-185 Page 182: We discussed the differences between am, are, is, was, and were. We talked about how they are used and when, depending on the subject and the time. Page 183: We learned about when to capitalize words (sentence beginnings, pronoun I, days, months, people's names. Page 184: Talked about declarative, interrogative, and exclamatory sentences and their corresponding punctuation marks. We learned how to use them. Page 185: We learned the rules for past tense (add -ed) present tense (singular subject: -s, plural subject: don't add -s), and future tense (add will before verb) Class Period 4: I gave another period to the class for writing their Personal Narratives. This will be the last class period to be used before the final draft. Homework:  1) Write vocabulary #9-16 4x 2) Sensay weekly assignment.

Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) MyView 1.4, pages 161-167: We read the story together and I showed the students a map with the first 13 states during the reading. I asked the class questions about the reading and the American flag. We highlighted and underlined details from the story and discussed the meaning of seamstress. Class Period 4: MyView 1.2, pages 123-126: Page 123: Categorized words that have the ow/ou diphthong into their correct groups. Page 124: I talked about the “to be” verbs: am, are, is, was, were. I explained how and when to use them, depending on the person or group of people you are referring to, as well as whether you are talking about the past or present. Page 125: We talked about nouns, pronouns, adverbs, and interjections. I gave examples and we talked about when and where to use them. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: 1) Vocabulary Review with Baamboozle- We played a vocabulary game in class using the website Baamboozle. Hello Everyone, Here is what we covered today: Class Period 3: MyView 1.4, pages 148-150: We learned about the ow/ou diphthong. Diphthongs are different sets of letters that have the same vowel sounds. For the ow/ou diphthong, words like cow and found will have the same vowel sound. We carefully pronounced the names of what we saw in some pictures, and I pointed out that these words all have the same vowel sound. As we looked at other pictures of things with the ow/ou diphthong, we matched these pictures with their words. We also filled in blanks and wrote a couple of sentences using words with the ow/ou diphthongs.
